He got his start spearheading trips for his family and friends and, after building a stellar reputation among the industry, established an impressive (and repeat) customer base, he created his company and now handles itineraries and logistics for hundreds of clients, everyday and every season.
“We have a long waitlist,” he said. “People see the nice part, which is the traveling, but it can be extremely stressful to have to string together a detailed plan for multiple people or trips. I feel like I’m the glue that puts everything together. I have a local in every country that we use and I help arrange all the destinations with them.”
Alvarez keeps a running list of top spots whenever he travels, this helps him ensure that he can replicate the experience for his clients too. When he jets off for another adventure, he keeps tabs on every stop, each hotel and all tourist attractions he visits while abroad. This includes trying the local cuisine, testing rooms and beds, and looking for essentially any ‘cracks in the armor’.
