A few facts about the interviewee
Mylène Besançon is an international businesswoman born and raised in the French Riviera, South of France. She co-founded Tunedly and Bring My Song To Life, both of which were selected to be part of American startup accelerators from New York, Missouri, and California. Tunedly and Bring My Song To Life are music companies that work with Grammy-winning musicians and major industry moguls with global success. Both brands, were recently named #1 on TheWebAppMarket and have also been mentioned in major publications like Forbes, Billboard, and Style Magazine. The multihyphenate answers our questions.
ABOUT MYLÈNE
1) What is a day like for you?
Firstly, I go through my morning routine before starting the day. For instance, I love to have a cup of hot quality green tea every single day. My husband and I alternate in making breakfast.
Thereafter, my day can include organizing content, answering emails, monitoring the performance of projects, checking our upcoming trips. It can also encompass preparing for an exam and attending meetings. I also love to listen to positive affirmations, document our life, and ensure my immediate family is doing well. I work remotely by the side of my spouse which fits me, so days are sweet and interesting.
Finally, my evening routine is a set of healthy habits I never skip like taking a shower and reading which keeps me grounded and cultured.
2) You recently joined the thirties club. What has changed from your twenties? What has not?
What has changed…
I graduated in my twenties with a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA in La Garde, France, and Dublin, Ireland respectively. Thereafter, I dived into entrepreneurship. From marketing to creative writing, I took a lot of online lessons, and jumped rapidly right and left. I believed in anyone but myself and there was a massive emphasis on discovering. Now in my thirties, I am more professionally experienced, and in life in general. More so because I’m happily married and have become a calmer person. I plan a lot more and I sometimes feel pressured to maintain some standards, especially in certain places I travel to. In summary, I let myself grow within those newly defined boundaries.
What has not changed…
Gratitude is part of my life. Needless to say, I travel a lot between Canada and the United States. Funnily, I still commit lapses when speaking in different languages. However, I’m at the stage where I don’t repeat expressions without comprehending the meaning behind them. I’m a firm believer that satisfaction comes from earning it. I love to try out exciting things. There is no alcohol, no cigarettes, no drugs at home and I still follow a holistic approach to life which I credit for being healthier than not.
ABOUT THE SERVICE
- Please explain what Bring My Song To Life and Tunedly are for to people who may not have used the services yet and your role.
At Bring My Song To Life, we have professional musicians who write the finest personalized music for your celebratory event.
There are so many reasons why people love our service and we have no doubt that it’ll exceed your expectations.
With Bring My Song To Life, you can customize the tone, mood, and overall feeling of your song. Do you want a song to dance to? Do you want a song that helps you relax after a long day? We can do that!
Bring My Song To Life creates long-lasting memories that make a difference. If you’re looking for a gift for someone special, our song will be the one unique gift that they’ll never forget.
Because we started candidly, the co-founder and I wore the hat of CEO and thereafter we decided to officially make me the CEO of this brand because the core service fits my personality best.
At Tunedly, you can discover new songs and enjoy their vibe as you unwind or go about your business.
You can earn TunedCoins while listening to your favorite jams by giving them a star. If a song you put a star on gets signed to a publishing deal, you earn its NFT and a TunedCoin. You will also get invitations to exclusive events where you’ll mingle with the artists and have fun. Don’t hesitate to check the website to keep up with the benefits.
Tunedly offers to create music for you with the best artists including Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar winners. That is right, Tunedly started as an online music recording studio through which you can elevate your sound!
I am the CMO of Tunedly so I will look out for new campaigns and be available for the team whenever they have any questions.
Quality is an essential part of the core services we offer in both brands.
- How did you choose the name “Bring My Song To Life”? Its logo is festive. According to the blog, your team chose the aqua blue color because “it symbolizes creativity, joy, patience, intuition, and sophistication” and the logo is modeled off the shape of a stereo audio track for the brand “Tunedly”.
This is correct about Tunedly. Bring My Song To Life started as a spontaneous project because people requested such services from us. For once, there was no huge thought process going behind this brand name apart from it being descriptive. You have a good idea of what the service is all about. As part of my to-do list, “it could be nice” is to change the brand name and make it more succinct. The logo incorporates a big gift box and music notes which again is straightforward. We also aimed for the golden color to bring the idea of love and yellow for affordability.
- I appreciate Tunedly’s disassociation from the gambling industry. Web3 is changing the way games are designed and built. It incentivizes and engages users and developers with the promise of token-based rewards. The shift from the traditional gaming model is so fundamental that within a few years, we’ll no longer refer to gaming as an industry but as an economy. Unfortunately, some companies have taken the gambling direction.
Tunedly is not in gambling. You don’t pay for it. Listeners get free coins when they engage on the platform. Those who want to buy coins should do so for utility (e.g. buying music production packages, getting invited to events, etc.) but not for an increase in value.
- Why do you think the service, Bring My Song To Life, is in such demand right now?
Maybe because the COVID-19 pandemic upended life as we knew it. Throughout the time, everyday routines and sources of joy shifted. People want to explore happiness again and celebrate the ones they care about now more than ever. This would be my best guess as to why our service is in such demand right now. On a not-so-objective note, word-of-mouth has also played a role because our team is competent, motivated, and just awesome.
ABOUT “YOU SAID”
- You said “Striving to do what I take great pleasure in after developing adequate skills and understanding my surroundings better. I have a great zeal to realize more aspirations.” How so?
Due to my current business commitments and frequent travels, I have yet to concretize these new aspirations! Keeping them on top of my mind makes me progress. I am looking at combining wellness, education, and entertainment in a project.
- You said “I might share my personal favorite three books of the moment for grown-ups soon.” Hmm, when can you do that?
You are referring to my contributions to the Bring My Song To Life blog! It’s in the works! [you can find Mylene’s recent articles here, here, here] I have just been as busy as a bee from sunrise to sunset. I’m enjoying the lovely ride until it lasts because as they say, “there’s an end to everything” and what I do is uplifting, promising, and loving. Our website has recently had an exponential increase in traffic. So, we’re frankly delivering orders to our dear clients from all across the United States and Canada over focusing on free content publication. Who knows, by the time this interview gets published, my book picks will be published. I hope you’ll like the list.
- You said on Facebook “I am proud of my family (from our diverse conversations to all of our projects in motion), my work (what we built from the ground up, including the team of choice, past accomplishments, and the promising numbers), my health (from my dedication to adopting a more balanced lifestyle to gratefulness practices).” I stopped using my Facebook profile when my nephews decided to share everything about Scooby-Doo and didn’t let me know.
It is hilarious. And what I said still holds the truth!
- You said “I am lucky to be able to use all of my degrees in languages, business, and marketing, in my career. I have been working on setting up excellent habits for myself and my family since 2020.” How do you keep yourself motivated?
By keeping a well-balanced life! Becoming a successful entrepreneur often takes years of hard work and motivation needs nurturing.
- You said “I can’t believe I am adding this to my to-do list, but I am in the process of getting my Driver’s License – better late than never! I put my education and career first and now feels like the right time to get it done after building my confidence up. Here’s a little fun fact regarding the driver’s license: The requirement to have a driver’s license in the U.S. started in 1903. But, Henry Ford obtained his first driver’s license in 1919 at the age of 56, despite having launched his first mass-produced car in 1908.”
Yes, I have it! Having my Driver’s License was not only encouraged by dear ones, but it was a means to have more control. I am not relying on private drivers and taxis anymore. It was the perfect time to get it and I am loving it.
- You said you wanted to visit Iceland, have you been there yet?
Good question. Not yet! We enjoy spending time at our lakefront cottage for now. Visiting Iceland is not in my immediate plans. I went to Le Louvre in the first arrondissement of Paris – France, with my hubby Chris, a few days ago.
The experience was astonishing, unforgettable, and rich. This stop concluded our trip to France that started with the Côte d’Azur and the surrounding areas to say hello to many dear ones. Not too long ago, I was in Montana in the USA and the state has a unique combination of wildlife and stunning scenery. My husband and I began deliberating on a period of the year that would be best to go to Florida in the USA to enjoy the many hours of sunshine and more. To conclude, I am looking forward to visiting Iceland…Let me catch a breath first! Thank you very much for the interview today!
