Laith Saud, Founder of ManAfter: Divorce Coaching

Laith Saud is the founder of ManAfter, a life coaching company focused on helping men overcome challenges like divorce or embrace responsibilities like parenting.

Q: What exactly is divorce coaching and why do you think it is necessary?

Laith Saud: Divorce coaching is coaching someone through divorce; that means, like a coach in your corner during a boxing match, I coach men on what personal moves to make to avoid a long, costly divorce.

It is necessary because men and women alike often allow their emotions to get involved in the divorce process, creating more pain and greater costs for everyone involved.  I realized only at the end of my own process that I walked into a lot of the traps of the divorce industry.

Q: What do you mean the “traps of the divorce industry?”

Laith Saud: Divorce is an industry; there is a certain professional class that makes money off your divorce.  The most obvious are divorce lawyers but there are also child lawyers, psychologists and other so-called experts that need your divorce, want your divorce and drag out your divorce.

Enabling someone in a divorce to navigate these relationships is part of what I do.

Q: Is divorce coaching lucrative?

Laith Saud: Actually, not really.  I do it because it helps someone in pain, there is still a fee, but there is not the same scale as with other businesses.  The pain people go through in divorce and the pain they are subject to by a system looking to rip them off gets passed on to their children and then the world.

Helping people in those difficult circumstances is the right thing to do.

Q: Why do you just focus on men?

Laith Saud: It’s simply a matter of comfort and trust.  I have worked with women too, but it has been my experience that, generally speaking, men feel free to communicate with a man they feel will not judge them.  And women may feel the same way.

The other factor is referrals; men are more likely to refer other men to our service.

Q: ManAfter not only helps men going through divorce, you also help parents raising sons.  How do you do that when you are a girl-dad?

Laith Saud: (laughs) Well, I am a son.  And as someone who has experienced my own particularly male challenges, I bring perspective on young men and the challenges they may face without even realizing them.

I have faced most challenges that affect men most; I have been the target of stereotyping as a man of Middle Eastern descent, of false accusations (very common in divorce as well), and just general misunderstanding.  But I always came out squeaky clean on the other side of it, because I kept my cool, told the truth and never bended to the emotional pressure.

The whole point of ManAfter is to help men live better lives and become better people after the challenge, hence the name, ManAfter.

Entrepreneur Corey Shader Explains: Surviving a Recession as a Small Business

0

Inflation is creating challenges for both consumers and businesses alike, and a looming recession could compound these problems even more. Entrepreneur Corey Shader says that as consumers continue to tighten their purse strings, small business owners may be looking toward the future in a “doom-and-gloom” manner.

Even with potentially challenging times on the horizon, though, there are things entrepreneurs can do to help their small business weather the storm. Below are some tips for surviving a recession as a small business.

Build Cash on Hand

A business’ cash reserves are akin to a family’s emergency fund. These “rainy day” funds can serve as extra help if major changes happen with cashflow, which often occurs during a recession.

Every business needs money on hand. Just because sales slump or collections slow doesn’t mean your bills won’t come due the same every month.

Building extra cash on hand is essential for any small business owner, no matter the economic climate. While it’s ideal to dedicate extra money to cash reserves over time, there’s never a time where it’s “too late” to do so. Even with inflation here and a recession looming, you can still set aside extra money in case you need it.

Focus on What You Do Well

One of the most effective strategies for surviving a recession is focusing on the things that you do really well, and putting extra effort into them.

What are the core competencies of your business? What products and/or services can you deliver at a high level consistently and that are most likely to sell even in an economic downturn?

Answer those questions and focus heavily on them during a recession. This may require you to put aside new product launches for a bit, but that’s OK. The goal is to weather the storm and be in a solid position on the other end.

Always Market Your Business

Many small businesses immediately cut back on marketing during a recession. A main reason for this is that marketing can be expensive — both in terms of the money it requires and in terms of the time it takes.

This is one of the biggest mistakes that entrepreneurs make. Even during recessions, it’s important to stay in front of your customers.

Luckily, there are many ways you can do so today without much out-of-pocket costs. You can take the time to deliver weekly emails that provide helpful information and don’t just sell your products. You can run contests and create other interactive content on social media pages to engage with your customers.

There’s almost no end to how creative you can be with your marketing, without outlaying a bunch of cash to do so.

Pay Extra Attention to Existing Customers

Corey Shader points out that it’s always more cost-effective and efficient to retain a customer than it is to attract a new one. So, while you may be thinking that it’s essential to attract new customers during a recession, the better approach is to pay extra attention to your existing customers so they remain your customers.

Try to build real connections with your customers now, before the recession officially hits. Sympathize and empathize with them and their challenges. Tell them how much you value them as customers, and show it to them in multiple ways.

Your customers will appreciate this effort, which will lead to them sticking around and spreading the word about how great your business is.

DynaFlex CEO Darren Buddemeyer Provides 12 Tips on How to Form and Lead a High-Performing Team as an Executive

As an executive, leading a team is one of the hardest parts of the job. In this article, DynaFlex CEO Darren Buddemeyer gives his top tips for how executives can inspire team members to go above and beyond in the office.

  1. Let Your Team Exhibit Their Talents

Too often, employees get bogged down in daily responsibilities that may not reflect their true talents. As you get to know your workers, note what excites them. Give them the opportunity to participate in projects that allow them to show off their skills. Doing so is likely to improve project outcomes as well.

  1. Allow Your Team to Make Mistakes

No one is perfect. Allow your team to make mistakes, and don’t pressure them to be perfect. They’ll learn on their own and become all the better for it.

  1. Be the Leader and Develop Future Leaders

At some point, you’ll step down from your role as a top leader in the organization. Make sure that you’ve taken the time to groom future leaders within your team. Identify the employees who have potential and want to lead, and give them ample opportunities to build up their skills.

  1. Provide Opportunities for Team Bonding

Offer opportunities for your team to get to know one another outside of work. Make a habit of scheduling at least one monthly get-together, such as a company lunch or an evening at the bowling alley. Your employees will build stronger relationships, which improves collaboration in the office.

  1. Be Accountable for Your Decisions

When you make a mistake, share your errors with your team. People appreciate it when leaders don’t pretend to be infallible. Showing that you’re human, just like them, enhances your relatability.

  1. Make Decisions with Authority

Whenever you must make a critical decision, think through several possible outcomes before choosing the right path. When you act objectively rather than emotionally, you reduce the risk of making an ill-informed decision.

  1. Develop Your EQ Skills

While being objective is essential, there will also be times when you need to show your emotions and let employees know you understand their situation. Work on developing self-awareness so you can practice empathy when things go wrong. Likewise, focus on building relationships to communicate well with other executives and colleagues.

  1. Give Your Team Plenty of Options for Self-Development

High-performing team members often have a thirst for learning. Give them opportunities to improve their skills, whether by offering them special projects to work on or providing a stipend for special classes.

  1. Exhibit Flexibility

Good leaders know things don’t always go according to a set plan. Demonstrate a commitment to flexibility and change when obstacles arise. Be willing to collaborate with your team on new ideas.

  1. Be a Model of Honesty

Nothing is a bigger turnoff in the workplace than senior leaders who aren’t honest. Keep your team informed of all critical matters in the workplace. If there are roadblocks ahead, don’t sugarcoat the situation. Instead, tell them about your concerns and trust them to handle things capably.

  1. Keep an Open-Door Policy

In today’s working environment, executives must be available to their teams. Encourage your workers to drop by when they have questions. The more accessible you are to your team, the better.

  1. Praise Your Employees for Their Efforts

Everyone likes to feel appreciated for their hard work. When you witness an employee going above and beyond the call of duty, recognize them for it. You’ll develop a reputation for being an executive who cares about their workers.

About Darren Buddemeyer, the CEO of DynaFlex

As the CEO of DynaFlex, Darren Buddemeyer has learned a thing or two about leading employees. He began his tenure when the company was a very small lab and has led the organization to become a major manufacturer of orthodontic products, orthodontic appliances, and dental sleep medicine devices.

How Flavia Leal is Enhancing and Changing Lives in the Beauty Industry

The founder of the Flavia Leal Beauty School, Flavia Leal, arrived in the United States at the age of 19, overshadowed by a troubling childhood and young adult life in Brazil, and like many immigrants came to find a better life for herself and her family.

After relocating to the U.S. the floodgates opened many more challenges for Leal and her family. The single mother, whose daughter was diagnosed with ADHD, was working over 80 hours a week, living in below-standard housing conditions, attending college and seeing the health of both of her parents deteriorating.

Leal lost her father in 2008, followed by her mother, to an almost year-long fight with pancreatic cancer, in 2009. Needless to say, Leal was shaken.

“Since I was a little girl, I loved school so much and studied. My mother had a dream that I would one day  wear a graduation cap and walk across the stage with my mother in attendance,” recalled Leal. “My mother, my best friend, died in my arms 11 months to the day that we found out about her diagnosis of cancer. I was so depressed that I didn’t go to my graduation. It was a difficult week, but I dusted myself off and began to reinvent myself.”

However, Leal was ever-so determined to reinvent herself and rise above all the challenges and turmoil she had endured throughout her young life. In 2010, she opened her first beauty school, followed by purchasing her second school from a previous owner who had run it for more than 52 years, in 2013. Over that span, she also idealized her name-brand makeup line, secured skills in both digital marketing and social media initiatives, and became a prominent figure in the industry, per demonstrations, both domestically and internationally.

“Everything is possible. It depends on what you want and believe in, despite where you come from or who you are,” Leal said. “I like to help people. No one can tell anyone that they are not good enough. I opened my school to help all students, regardless of where they come from.”

The rising success that is Flavia Leal Beauty School has made it a mission to open its doors to people of all ethnicities, backgrounds and walks of life, just so long as they are determined to make better lives for themselves and chase success. Its curriculum expands far beyond traditional beauty teachings, offering students the ability to shift their mindsets, both professionally and personally, too.

“When I took my leave to work as a beautician, I found that many Brazilians had the same desire, but that they were not well-received or even rejected in American beauty schools because these educational institutions required documents that the state didn’t request or because of language barriers,” said Leal. “With the intention of helping these people and giving the opportunity for so many Brazilians to have a real profession in the United States, I decided to open my first school.”

The Journey So Far

Leal takes great pride in her Brazilian heritage and has been recognized countless times, across many different countries, for her contributions to both immigrants bound for the U.S. and her skills in the beauty world.

She is not only a motivational speaker, influencer and lecturer, but also a licensed manicurist with certifications in esthetics, artificial nails, airbrush, eyebrow design, personal hygiene and cosmetics products demonstrator, while also serving as a teacher in esthetics and makeup. She has garnered so much notoriety in the industry that she has earned numerous awards in countries like Austria, France and Brazil, among others.

In fact, Leal will soon add a second Portuguese Brazilian Award to her trophy case, courtesy of her contributions and successes in her industry, but also for serving as a guiding light for the Brazilian people in other regions of the world. She is making a difference and, with four schools, a makeup line, and a laundry list of skills at her disposal, she’s just getting started.

Considering all she has done and continues to do, while being widely recognized across a global scale, it’s safe to say that Leal is making a difference and bound for more victories in the future.

Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, launched the construction of a factory in Almaty for manufacturing 90,000 Changan, Chery, and Haval cars annually

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, launched on 15 November 2022 a new multi-brand car factory in the city of Almaty. Toyayev was presented with the project’s passport and the model of the factory for the production of vehicles to be opened in 2024.

The area of production premises will total over 100 thousand square meters. The factory will manufacture over 90 thousand cars per year. The total amount of investment will exceed USD $ 215 million and set to be created 2,200 jobs. The Kazakh President launched the construction of this multi-brand plant and spoke with the personnel, about their planned future mass production of Changan, Chery, and Haval cars.

“This is a vital project for the country”, Kazakhstan’s Head of State said to the new factory’s employees. “This year, during the visit of China’s President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan, we discussed this project. Today we see the result – its implementation has begun. I wish you success in its implementation”.

Didier Pfleger added, that “Skoda is ready to enter new markets and views Kazakhstan as a promising partner for localization and development of its productions”.

YouTube Automation Founder Caleb Boxx Shares Advice for Finding Success with YouTube Cash Flow Channels

At 22 years old, Caleb Boxx pulls in $60,000 per month through his own videos and his business, YouTube Automation. He runs seven faceless channels on the video platform that make him thousands of dollars in his sleep. The rest of his income comes from teaching creators how to automate their channels or even managing their automated channels for them.

Whether you know it or not, you’ve probably watched dozens of YouTube videos made by Boxx, his clients — who have a combined one billion subscribers — or one of his 200 staffers.

The YouTube Automation founder assists creators in automating their channels and subscribes to a four-hour workweek. He built his first website at 11 years old and took on his first paying clients shortly after.

Today, he has an impressive half million followers on Instagram, and his company is the top-rated YouTube automation agency in the world. It runs a three-level teaching system that includes The Automation Program, The YouTube Automation Course, and The Elite Mentorship Program, which specializes in mastermind, personal coaches and training.

The young entrepreneur believes that anyone can turn an existing YouTube channel into a cash-flow business using five strategies he devised himself during his decade in the business.

“YouTube Automation is taking a money-making, time-saving approach to the platform,” Boxx said, “People get into creating videos because they love it. But, when a channel relies on your face for years, it gets tiring. I’ve found a way to solve that pain point for YouTube creators and make their businesses return better cash flow.”

“These are the exact strategies I use to make my faceless channels profitable (and go viral) in a predictable way,” he said of the five tips he wished he had known before starting his YouTube automation business.

Find a Niche

It’s easier to make money when fewer people share the same sort of content as you. This is why Boxx suggests you define your niche: celebrity gossip, vintage car repairs, or historical gardening, for example, and drill down to one sub-niche that you love, and that has fewer active creators.

To expand on the previous examples, those specialized niches could be reality TV gossip, 1980s Nissan repairs, or Victorian garden design.

“The fewer competitors you have in your niche, the more people will organically end up on your channel,” said Boxx.

Don’t Let Analytics Lead (At First)

Boxx explained that new uploaders — or those testing new sub-niches or styles on an existing channel — tend to sit and refresh their analytics after posting. But new approaches can take time to catch on, and you don’t want to get discouraged and talk yourself out of a good thing.

“I recommend you upload a minimum of 32 videos to a new channel, in a new style, or a new sub-niche, before looking at analytics and making any decisions,” said Boxx.

Get Help

To put out the best content and the highest quantity, you need help. Boxx suggests hiring a team, even if it’s just one person in the beginning, as soon as possible. Having more brainstorming power and more people putting in hours on new videos will pay off dividends down the line.

Boxx also reminds creators that an old adage is true. In this case, all profits should be reinvested into the business in the beginning.

Reiterate Success

This might seem like a cheap shot to some creators, but it’s just a sensible business move. “If one video outperforms all the others, create another version of it,” said Boxx.

If your reality star arrest roundup, transmission replacement, or vintage garden tour video goes viral, immediately begin making as many similar videos as you can manage. This is a way to keep people coming back to your channel, subscribing, and liking your videos.

Watch, Learn, Improve

The other side of the same coin is to watch which of your competitors’ videos go viral and make similar — but improved — content.

“Model your YouTube channel after other successful channels in similar niches. It’s ok to copy their concepts but make the content better and add your own spin to it,” said Boxx.

There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. If every creator in your niche makes videos that last about 20 minutes, they’ve likely researched this length as the most attractive to viewers. Instead of spending months in A/B testing to test this hypothesis, simply assume that others have researched this and move forward with your 20-minute videos.

“We spoil our customers with the full-concierge service and experience,” said Alvarez. “We put everything together, handle all the logistics and make sure they can go have fun and not have to worry about anything.”

Alvarez has built an extensive network of clientele as well as worldwide concierges and prominent hoteliers over the years. This not only serves him and his family on vacations, but also helps him establish a marquee trip for clients as well.

Alvarez and his wife make it their top priority to abide by all rules and regulations of preferred destinations among their clients, via coordinating with country concierges and officials. Each travel package they create is not only customized and tailored to the traveler’s desires, but requires research and preparation to ensure their safety, but also that they have a great time.

An Inside Look at the Life of a Travel Agent

Alvarez has been traveling since a young age, having traveled extensively with his uncle. He developed an itch for traveling, but also a love for geography. He got his start spearheading trips for his family and friends and, after building a stellar reputation among the industry, established an impressive (and repeat) customer base, he created his company and now handles itineraries and logistics for hundreds of clients, everyday and every season.

“We have a long waitlist,” he said. “People see the nice part, which is the traveling, but it can be extremely stressful to have to string together a detailed plan for multiple people or trips. I feel like I’m the glue that puts everything together. I have a local in every country that we use and I help arrange all the destinations with them.”

Alvarez keeps a running list of top spots whenever he travels, this helps him ensure that he can replicate the experience for his clients too. When he jets off for another adventure, he keeps tabs on every stop, each hotel and all tourist attractions he visits while abroad. This includes trying the local cuisine, testing rooms and beds, and looking for essentially any ‘cracks in the armor’.

In fact, he won’t recommend any place that he does not have experience in visiting himself.

The level of commitment and dedication that the Alvarez family puts into each of their personal trips spills over to their clients and, with that kind of service, why would you book your next trip with anyone else?

The Property Advocates Says Be Wary of Scams During Disasters

Scammers are everywhere, unfortunately, and they’re always looking to take advantage of vulnerable people.

According to The Property Advocates, many scammers spring into action whenever there is a disaster, hoping to take advantage of people who are hard on their luck and are desperate for help. That’s why when a disaster such as Hurricane Ian strikes, Floridians need to be on high alert for scammers trying to catch them off guard.

Here are some of the most common scams to look out for during disasters and how you can avoid falling victim to one.

Fake Disaster Aid

Many Florida homeowners were affected by Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in the state in late September. Many of these homeowners are scrambling to rebuild their lives after unexpected inland damage caused tremendous financial suffering that will be hard to rebound from.

There are both state and federal programs and agencies that step in to help people during this time of need, and it’s something that scammers will attempt to piggyback on.

These scammers might claim they are from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Small Business Administration, or other state and local aid offices. Then, they’ll tell you they can provide disaster assistance or help you fill out applications for assistance for a fee.

Know that legitimate federal and state agencies don’t charge for disaster assistance applications, nor do they ever solicit homeowners in any way.

Charity Scams

Another common scam during disasters is people claiming to be collecting money for various charities. They’ll call, email, or even text people to solicit donations they claim will help those who have been affected by a recent disaster. They may make up the name of a charity or claim they are from a well-known charity such as the Red Cross.

It can be hard to tell if these calls, emails, and texts are legitimate. So, a good way to avoid being scammed is to never provide any information at all when you’re being solicited. Simply tell the person who reached out to you that you will consider donating at a later date and give them no further information.

Then, if you want to donate to a charity helping with disaster relief, make sure to visit its official website. You can donate directly to many charities or at least find their official phone number to call for more information.

Construction Insurance Fraud

Scammers posing as legitimate construction company owners also may try to take advantage of people in times of need. The Property Advocates explains that scammers may say they’re construction workers and that they can quickly fix the damage your home sustained if you sign over any insurance claim to them.

Once you give them the money, you’ll never hear from them again. It can be challenging to track them down, and you may never see your money again.

The best way to avoid this scam is to only deal with legitimate contractors you can trust. If a contractor solicits you out of nowhere, don’t make any decision on the spot. Check them out online to see if they are legitimate and see if they have received any positive online reviews.

It’s also best to get multiple bids for construction jobs at your home, as only legitimate companies are likely to show up.

About The Property Advocates

The Property Advocates, P.A. is a full-service Florida insurance law firm specializing in property insurance claims. With offices in Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, The Property Advocates team consists of nearly 25 experienced attorneys with decades of combined experience who are compassionate, knowledgeable, and not afraid to go to trial for their clients. They have a successful track record of resolving complicated property insurance claims and getting their clients the fair compensation they deserve.
